The weather was really beautiful for a few days so I took the girls to the park and on a big bike ride by the canal. Andrea had her school performance and got to say part of a rhyme. She said, "T is for the top of the tree that is colorful." Diana came to her performance.
We got to help Grandma Bentz set up her Christmas tree and she gave the girls Grandma Boy's old Christmas tree to put in their room. They loved decorating a little tree and having a tree in their own room.
Our ward Christmas party was lots of fun. Grandma and Grandpa Bentz came and joined us. We had lasagna. The girls got to see Santa and we were separated into groups and performed lip syncs. It was a ton of fun. Our group was given the song 12 Days of Christmas. Steve took charge and told all of us what to do. He did great.
Andrea did so well in gymnastics that she was able to move up another level to Shooting Stars. She was so excited! Rachel had her school performance and song a few different songs. It was really cute. We got a package from my parents. They gave us a Bulgarian Nativity picture. It was really nice. We went to Christmas lights at the Riparian Reserve and a street in Morrison Ranch with Diana and Ed and Sophia. We sure love them. It was a lot of fun.
We made delicious cookies with Grandma Bentz during one of the Packer games in preparation for Mooker and Emily coming into town. We picked them up at the airport on Tuesday and then all of us went to see the New Stars movie that night while Sharon watched the kids. The movie was awesome! Mooker and Emily stayed at our house because the next day we went to the snow!!!! We drove up 30 minutes past Payson and just pulled off the side of the highway and played in the snow. It snowed the whole time we were there, so Jessica was not a fan, but the rest of us had a blast. We didn't have a good enough slope to actually sled, so we just had a snowball fight and made a huge awesome snowman! Then we turned around and drove back home. I was so glad that everyone was willing to make the trip just for a few hours in the snow, it just made my Christmas complete!
The next night was Christmas Eve which was our traditional dinner at Auntie Sharon's house. Andrea played Jiggle Bells and Away in a Manger on the piano. She even had the, memorized. I played Silent Night. Daddy and Rachel sang, We Wish You a Merry Christmas. Then we came to our house and opened pajamas, put out food for Santa and the reindeer and then went to bed. The girls were so excited!!!
The next day was Christmas!!!! Santa and his reindeer did come! They brought the girls lots of toys and clothes and books. Daddy got a telescope that has a motor so it uses GPS to find things in the sky for you. Mommy got a fake wedding ring to wear when swimming and cleaning, frying pans, and a colored printer. We gave Grandma and Grandpa our calendar as usual and Mooker and Emily dart guns and catch phrase. Grandpa Bentz got a Packer cruiser bike and Grandma got a baby grand piano. I think it's safe to say that we all were very blessed for Christmas. We went on a bike ride and roller blade ride to the park in the afternoon and just spent time together. We used the telescope every night!
To finish off the month we went to parks and went to see the temple lights. We only watched a few movies, most of the time was spent playing Carcasone, our favorite game!!! On New Years day the girls and I went to Golf Land with my cousins Nettie and Heidi and their families. Amber's kids and Dave and Sue were also there.
