We went miniature golfing before we left with some of our best friends, the Rambows. We are really going to miss them.
Chase got really into it and he's actually pretty good for only being 5 years old.
Andrea had a blast and really got a hang of hitting the ball this time too.
Rachel had a blast trying to grab everyone's ball and put it in the hole before we could hit it into the hole.
Go Daddys! Bo and Steve trying to make the best hit without hitting the kids. :-)
This is my attempt at a group picture. Chase, Tayla, Rachel, Steve, Bo, Janet, McKenna, and somewhere is Andrea and Tausha
Just chillin' on the bench with daddy. Yes, she climbed up there all by herself!
We finished the evening with ice cream, games, and prizes.
Did I mention that Rachel climbs on everything. Including climbing out of her crib. This is the last picture we took before we moved to Manti. Steve drove the big Budget truck with all of our stuff to Arizona with the fish tank in the front seat to keep him company and the girls and I drove to Utah. It was a very long trip. We stayed the night at the last city before we got to Vegas. The next morning we drove about an hour before we were completely stopped in traffic because of a car crash. Both lanes were completely blocked for two hours. We were out walking on the freeway talking to people. Eventually people started driving down the big dip between the freeways and turning around so they could take an over pass to get to the dirt road that paralleled the freeway. I actually took that road for a few minutes and then the traffic started moving again, so I headed back to the freeway. We ended up stopping in Vegas to see my friend Ashley Jackson Jones. It was really nice to see her. She fed us dinner and then we drove the rest of the way to Manti and got there late Sunday evening. It was quite the drive, but we finally made it. We were greeted by Aubrey, William, Brooke, Leah, Camille, and Mom and signs on the door saying Welcome Home.
We had 3 casts this summer. Gunner broke his arm, Casen broke his leg and Kaydence broke her leg. I just tied a bag around Gunner's arms o he could play in the water Gecko with the girls.
Gunner, Andrea, Leah, and Rachel had a blast playing in the water while Aubrey, William, Brooke, and Camille and I cleaned all washed all of the cars.
We had so much fun at the swimming pool. We tried to go swimming almost every other day because the kids loved it so much. The only hard part was that we had Kaydence and Casen with casts that they couldn't get wet. So we had to be a little creative.
Andrea and Leah had a blast swimming together. They are both getting really close to swimming all by themselves. As long as they stayed where they could touch on their tippy toes they were just fine by themselves.
Brooke and Canon LOVED the slide!
We took all the kids on a trip up to Thanksgiving Point and Hoggle Zoo. We even stayed the night at a hotel in Salt Lake. We went to the petting zoo at Thanksgiving point and then picked Kayla and Landon up at the airport and went out to dinner. The kids really liked the petting zoo.
We had two strollers and a wagon. We had to keep rotating who got to be in the strollers and who got to ride in the wagon. We had two kids that had to ride because they were in casts. It was quite they adventure.
The ponies ride were the best part!
They're all stuck in jail. Oh no!!!
Look at all those kids under the age of 7.
The Gorillas at Hogle Zoo
The bird show was absolutely fabulous!!! Steve met up with us during lunch time and made it just in time for the show. He flew into Provo from Arizona. Markell picked him up and was going to come with us to the Zoo, but Max got a cold, so she stayed to help comfort Stephanie in the NICU.
Rachel was a little wanderer. She was all over the place during the show.
A Beautiful owl.
After the bird show we walked through the rest of the park including the polar section.
Steve and I got to see Max. Steve helped give him a blessing with Scott.
The three of us girls wanted to give mom a birthday gift that she could use in the kitchen, so we got her a bunch of new kitchen necessities.
Rebekah and Pete came down to visit one day so we went up the canyon and a picnic at the campground and played around the lake.
Pete, Elizabeth, and Rachel.
The kids had a blast jumping over the stream and trying to make a bridge to walk across. I loved this picture of Andrea.
Look at all these girls playing together. Landon, Casen, and Pete were a little outnumbered.
Landon is so adorably huge. I love it!
I love this picture of us three childhood best friends together with our own little families now.
D'Enna laughed hysterically every time she pulled up Landon's shirt and saw his belly button.
Two legs in casts and climbing a really steep hill made for an adventurous trip up the mountain. Each of us adults were carrying at least one to two children.
We took all of the kids and went and watched Disney's Planes.
They got to see Rusty and Mater.
We got to go swimming at least 4 times at the Manti pool before it closed. The kids loved swimming there. We didn't go more often because we had three kids with casts. Kaydence broke her leg jumping on Grandma Barclay's couches. Casen broke his leg jumping out of the truck, and Gunner broke his arm playing with his cousin Tanner. So those three kids couldn't get their casts wet.
We still tried to be ambitious and took Kaydence swimming.
We did finally take Kaydence and told her that she could play in the water with her hands. I'm pretty sure that most of her body was wet by the time we left. :-)
Andrea had a blast going down the slide with her Daddy.
Daddy and Andrea just before the went down the slide.
Just hitting the water
Daddy saves her and keeps her out of the water.
That night after swimming we attempted to take all of the kids on a walk/bike ride. Ken and Lindsi drove by and thought that we looked like a little polygamist family. Steve and his two wives and all our kids. It was too funny that we had to take a picture. After an hour of walking we made it about 2 blocks.
We had all of the grand kids make a card for Grandpa's 60th birthday party!
Playing outside and trying not to get to dirty from all the dirt.
These two are just too adorable, so I had to post all three pictures of their different facial expressions. Landon and Rachel are obsessed with the broom and vacuum. Landon is a little more obsessed than Rachel. He carries one of them everywhere he goes.
We had a fun Hawaiian party for Grandpa Barclays' 60th Birthday. Cami and Steve made this awesome fruit display. Steve is making a monkey out of grapes and attaching it to the pineapple tree.
Kayla, Mom, and I made a death by chocolate cake for Grandpa.
Rachel came up to me and put this umbrella in my hair so I could look beautiful like her.
Look at that awesome fruit display. Monkey included.
The kids loved the Hawaiian skirts. Canon and William put on a magic show for everyone.
Once again. Landon has found the vacuum and carrying it around the house.
I guess Grandpa may have actually reached the point of going over the hill. He earned all of those years.
Trying to open up gifts with the help of all those grandkids.
I just love Rachel's hair like this. She is so adorable!!!
This is the face that Andrea makes quite often. She was upset because Kaydence was not doing things the way Andrea wanted.
This is the way that Kaydence usually looks too. Bossing other people around. With two oldest children to play with Leah is going to bossed around a lot. :-)
We took everyone out bowling and had a blast. The little kids got their own lane, the older kids got a lane, and then the adults got their own lane as well. Tons of fun though!
We went out for lunch one of the last days that we were all together. William had Rachel laughing so hard.
We took a trip up to Provo and saw Bill and MaryAnn, and Mooker. Andrea was so excited when she saw Bill that she ran up to him and wrapped her arms all the way around him and didn't let go for at least 2 minutes. It was so precious. You could tell that Bill's heart was just melting.
Spraying the grass with Uncle Mooker.
We got one last trip to the pool with Kayla and Landon before they had to leave. We LOVE the pool.
I think Landon could eat a whole case of Pringles in about 20 minutes. :-)
Sharing Pringles.
D'Enna LOVES the water. It doesn't matter how cold she is, she will keep swimming.
Andrea loves swimming, but she gets cold and has to take breaks every once in a while.
Rachel decided to try on some random person's flip flops.
So much fun at the pool. Yes, still eating Pringles. Landon is always eating all day long.
They love to watch kids float around in the lazy river.
Cuddling with Grandpa and Grandma after swimming.
The twins came home much earlier than expected, so John and Markell's house wasn't quite ready yet. It was under construction, so they were at her parent's house for a few weeks. They let Kayla and I come down and see and hold them. They were so little and precious. We got a twin outfit for Markell.
Kayla and I got a gift for Max as well.
I got Kayla some earings for her birthday.
We went up to Provo for education week and saw Bill and Mary Ann, Mooker, Grandma Boy, and Auntie Sharon. We also stopped by and saw Amber Cramer and her family. I found out Amber was expecting a baby due in February. Rachel and Ruby had tons of fun with their gogurts.
The girls took Indi for a walk and loved it. Bill and MaryAnn were nice enough to watch the girls for a day so I could go to Education week with Mom and Auntie Sharon. I went to some great classes on marriage. Then Steve surprised me and took me on a date. We went out to dinner together. It was a wonderful day.
The Sanpete County Fair was much different this year. It rained liked crazy the whole week so it was muddy and chilly, but that didn't stop us from having fun. We took the girls on some rides.
We also went to the crazy loud Demolition Derby. Tons of mud was flying everywhere. Good thing we were in the grand stand. :-)
Saturday was actually Sunny so we went to the Home Depot workshop and the girls made some awesome wooden trucks with Daddy.
They loved using a real hammer.
Such a fun Daddy daughter activity.
They got to meet my favorite clown, Willy the Clown. Willy was the entertainment at my 8-year-old birthday party. He is still going strong despite being 80+ years old. We went swimming and caught the last few minutes of the parade. It was the last day to swim before they shut it down for the season. It was kind of chilly, but both girls got to go down the slide and they loved it.
We had a wonderful Family Home Evening lesson in which we made our family Consequence Ladder. We practiced each step and displayed it on the fireplace. I was really excited to have set boundaries for our family and a routine to follow daily.
Andrea and Kaydence got to perform at the Junior Drill Team Clinic. The performed at a home football game. It was way fun for the girls.
Poor Andrea, she was exhausted by the time that they finally got to perform.
I guess Kaydence was pretty exhausted too.
The kids made their own movie theater in the basement. Kaydence is holding up the video camera so they can watch the movie. They also set up their snack bar around the corner and each kid has their own plate with fake food on it.
Steve and I went for our own little 4-Wheeler ride up the canyon behind the house. We found this large set of rocks to climb and climbed to the top and took some great pictures. August was a wonderful, busy month with lots of family!
