The derby was awesome! It was Steve and Mooker's first time ever seeing a derby and they both loved it!!!! Five cars flipped over and lots of dirt was thrown. It was really fun. Thank you Markell for getting tickets for all of us! We were all eating dinner at the house really fast before the derby and suddenly we got a call from Brad Bown (The Fair Director) He said, "Is Kayla coming to sing the National Anthem and ride around the arena and be announced. We had no idea she was supposed to do that, nobody had ever talked to her. So, we hurried and got everything together. Steve, Mooker, and Dad pulled the roof off of the Rubicon and mom and I put the food away. Kayla asked me to sing with her, so we practiced a couple times on the ride over. She rode around the arena while dad drove and of course I missed my "royalty days" so I rode in the passenger seat and waved to everybody as well. ;-) It's fun being Miss Utah's Sister!!! Kayla and I sang the National Anthem and I think we did a pretty good job and then the fantastic derby began!

Steve and I in front of the arena. Don't we look Good!

Mooker, Kayla, Mom, and Dad. Mooker was really sad that his eyes were closed in his one picture with Miss Utah!!

This is an awesome picture Steve got of two cars that flipped over at the same time. The car to the right knocked them both over!

Kayla riding on top of the Rubicon.

And of course the Handsome Driver of the Rubicon.

I had to throw this picture in because it was so random. I was watering the flowers and on my way inside I saw this huge bug on the wall, so of course I started screaming. Steve and Mooker ran outside and we realized that it was a HUGE leaf bug! I have never even seen a leaf bug before. It really is a walking leaf, it's wings are an exact replica

How fun! I'm jealous that I didn't get to go to the derby :( I think this was my first year ever missing it! Oh, and can I ask, who is Mooker?
LOVE the derby pictures. I haven't been to a derby in forever....so it was good to see the pictures.
